Update for Apple’s iTouch
With Apple’s recent announcement of changes to the iPod line (Nano, Shuffle and Touch), together with a major new release of iTunes (version 9.0), the Touch remains largely (if you will) untouched.
There is now a 64 Gb version of the Touch. The 32 Gb and 64 Gb versions are claimed to be “50% faster” with better graphics than previous models. In addition, you can expect to see a reduction in the price.
Perhaps most significant for the iTouch / iPhone line, there are now approximately 21,000 applications (apps) available through the iStore for purchase / download. The combination of apps in an mp3 player allows users to play their favourite music while playing / using apps. This is perceived to be the most significant factor in the iTouch / iPhone line relative to its competitors (Sony’s Playstation Portable (PSP) and Nintendo’s DSi).
