Another University requires iPod Touch / iPhone
Here’s one to delight students, at least at the university (college?) level.
Recently, the pharmacy department at the University of Florida recently issued a notice that its students must have an 8GB iPod Touch or iPhone for the fall term. This follows on a similar report from the journalism school at the University of Missouri.
There is a certain degree of logic to this, given the versatility of the iTouch / iPhone line, the apps available and the screen size. Presumably, some proprietary apps could be written within these departments to facilitate their use in the curriculum. For instance, imagine a comprehensive, up-to-date (dependent upon your last download), easy to carry and manage pharmaceutical compendium of drugs and associated information (i.e. uses, chemical data, side effects, etc.). Also, with the software and peripheral hardware available, recording lectures for subsequent review could be very advantageous. I remember having difficulty in some lectures getting all the information recorded in my hand written notes. Having an audio copy, downloaded at the end of each day onto the computer, and utilized to complete the days notes and/or for pre-test review of topics could be invaluable.

I’ve had a quick look at your site, it looks very interesting. Maybe you’d like to send a synopsis through for us to publish for you? Please make it as factual as possible and include a short bio of yourself and a link to your site at the end.

Thanks for the review! I want to say - thank you for this!
I don’t get it, what do you mean by the 3rd paragraph?
Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for the positive feedback. It is gratifying that the efforts make a contribution.
Sdanaktir - The third paragraph is my attempt at proposing how the iTouch / iPhone might be utilized in a university setting. With the memory available and a larger display than earlier models in the iPod line, it makes it possible for them to be used as a comprehensive portable database. The later models also have the capability of recording with no additional equipment required, ideal for recording lectures so as to amend your notes at a later date.
Very Interesting post! Thank you for such interesting resource!PS: Sorry for my bad english, I’v just started to learn this language
